NURUOSMANİYE MOSQUE

The Mosque with first baroque feature which is seen on the 2 meters plinth wall at the left of dgate entered as soon as exited from Çemberlitaş gate of Covered Market. One of its two gates of outside courtyard is opened to Covered Market and the other is opened to Çemberlitaş. The mosque which’s construction had been started by Mustafa Ağa and his assistant Simon Kalfa (Architecture Simeon) in 1748 wascompleted in 1755'. The mosque which’s construction was started during the period of I.Mahmut was completed with the name of Nuruosmani during the period of III. Osman. It doesn’t have Fountain, has ritual ablution places in the front and behind, also additional ritual place is in the basement opposite to the entrance door. Its altar is serrate. Mosque is accessed from two directions with high marble stairs. It has 174 windows.
