Grand Vizier Rüstem Paşa who was the husband of the most loved daughter of Sultan Süleyman had this beautiful mosque built on Golden Horn shore in business place region in Eminönü in 1561. Although it is known as a small mosque of Mimar Sinan, is really one of the most beautiful mosques of Istanbul with its architectural quality and wonderful ceramic tile decoration. Blue- Green İznik ceramic tiles covered on inside walls at the entry and octagon columns inside the mosque are the most beautiful examples of 16th century art.
