TOPKAPI PALACE

2nd emperor palace which was built in Istanbul for Ottoman Padishahs is one of the greatest and oldest palaces in the world. This palace has been used by empire for the purpose of residence and management for 400 years. Palace is at a wonderful position dominating Marmara Sea, Istanbul Bosporus and Golden Horn scene. The palace which’s construction dates back to 1856s has been enlarged a few times and repaired many times. The palace which consists of four courtyards and buildings having different functions around it is one of the best sample of classical Ottoman architecture. It is like another city in the city with its large kitchens, harem, management, meeting halls and gardens. Topkapı Palace which has been viewed by the visitors since 1924 has been converted in to museum which contains padishah costumes, Prophet Mohammed, other many prophets and caliphs, relics consisting of individual belongings, China and Jpain porcelains, guns and treasury department.
